“OPTIX” AD took part in two of the biggest optical and defense forums – “OPTATEC” exhibition in Frankfurt and EUROSATORY in Paris Frankfurt, Germany and Paris, France
Traditionally, OPTIX took part in The International Trade Fair for Future Optical Technologies, Components, Systems and Manufacturing “Optatec 2008”, which was conducted in Frankfurt, Germany from 17th to 20th June. As always, and this year the forum gave the company opportunity to “tune - up” its technological capabilities with the latest modernisms in the sphere of optical production. The clients of OPTIX were fascinated by the fact that during the last year the company had made a lot of new investments in the laser technologies, the manufacturing of micro-optics and sophisticated mechanical details and thus it had broadened its area of expertise, offering its customers totally complex solutions.
At the same time in Paris, France, the biggest military exhibition – EUROSATORY was taking place. Again, OPTIX had its stand – part of the pavilion of the Bulgarian Defense Industry. The company showed is latest developments – the first Bulgarian thermo vision sight, the night attachment for day sights, aviator night vision goggles. The last mentioned were also officially presented in the daily bulletin of the exhibition and induced great interest among lots of potential clients. The forum was visited by over 52 000 visitors and 117 official delegations from 75 countries, which proves in practice the interest towards the leading technologies in the sphere of defense.. 
“OPTIX” Co with a remarkable presence at “HEMUS” 2008 Plovdiv 28-31 May, 2008
OPTIX Co once again had a remarkable presence at the Eight International Exhibition for Defense Equipment "Hemus 2008". The Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov personally visited the attractive booth and was impressed by the new company products: the first Bulgarian thermal sight, the night attachment for day sights, aviator night vision goggles, technical and police endoscopes. At the open areas Optix introduced the mobile system for surveillance and security, which was developed with the leading manufacturer of IR technology “FLIR Systems”. The vehicles were delivered as a part of the PHARE programme for the needs of the Bulgarian Border Police. A number of meetings were held during the exhibition, including with the Security Minister of Iraq, the Egyptian military attache, a delegation from India, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Azarbeydzhan and others. The management of OPTIX believes that the company has the resources required to play a significant role in the various projects for the modernization of the Bulgarian Army, as well as in projects on programme "Future Soldier".
OPTIX Co. sent in its latest products at "DSA" Exhibition in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia April 2008
At the end of April, OPTIX Co showcased its products at one of the largest exhibitions for defense equipment in Asia- "DSA'08" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. More than 600 companies from 40 countries took part in the show. OPTIX Co participated together with other companies from the Bulgarian Defense Industry Association on a joint Bulgarian pavilion, presenting its full range of equipment for night vision, day sights, mobile surveillance systems and its newest product- compact thermal sight. An interest in the company products showed the Vice-prime minister and the Malaysian Defense Minister, who had the opportunity to observe with the compact twin tube night vision goggles “Diana-TT”.
OPTIX Co. celebrates its 10th anniversary on a corporate party Military Club, Sofia February 20, 2008
OPTIX Co celebrated its 10th anniversary in the Military club on February 20, 2008 with a ceremonial cocktail. Among the officials who attended the event were vice-ministers, MPs, the second-in-command of the Bulgarian Army Headquarters, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the regional governor of Pazardhik district and many others.
Right after OPTIX’s CEO Mr. Ivan Cholakov's speech, Mr. Spas Panchev, the vice minister of Defense officially served the NATO-AQAP 2110 certificate. Mr. Werner Schoely from „Schoely“ Germany – one of the world leaders in endoscopy industry gave also a special greeting.
Greetings came also from the Chairman of the Parliament – Mr. Georgi Pirinski, the Chairman of the Bulgarian Defense Industry Association Prof. Stephan Vodenicharov, the Chairman of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber Ilia Keleshev and many more business partners. For the guests' good mood took care the showman Dimitar Tudjarov – Shkumbata and the String Quartet „Intro“.

 The Bulgarian prime-minister Mr. Sergey Stanishev awarded the winning participants in the Fourth National Forum for Innovations. OPTIX Co has been going the Innovative Company of 2007 for 3 consecutive years. Different companies from various industry and informational technologies sectors took part in the competition. An innovative company is considered to be a company that have realized on the market some new or significantly developed products/items or services. The innovation is broadly understood as something new that improves the economic features and the competitive power of the companies.

OPTIX successfully participated at "LIMA 2007" Exhibition in Malaysia Langkawi, Malaysia 04-08 December 2007
From 4/12 to 8/12 a International Exhibition Show LIMA 2007 was held in the Mahshuri center on Langkawi island, Malaysia. More than 450 companies from about 30 countries took part in this amazing air show. The attendants were about 35 000 people. OPTIX Co accepted the special invitation from the organizers and had its own booth presenting its latest night vision devices and sights.
Mr. Ivan Cholakov, the Executive director had the honor to welcome personally on the booth some high-ranking officers from Malaysia and the region as well as the Malaysian army headquarters commander. The last noticed the high quality of all company products and said he had never watched through better night vision devices. The interest was mainly focused on the newest developments of OPTIX Co, including the mobile termovision systems, the aviator night vision goggles and the latest version of the night vision monocular. The company representatives had the chance to watch the “Red Arrows” show, held by the famous airman team from UK and to meet some of the best pilots in the region. The last gave extremely valuable ideas and advises for new upgrades of OPTIX devices.
OPTIX Co on the „Defence and Security 2007“ Exhibition InterExpo Center, Sofia 11-14 September 2007
The new OPTIX devices, presented on the specialized exhibition „Defence and Security 2007" arose interest to experts in the defense technologies as well as among the regular attenders, interested in hunting and shooting.
The official delegation, led by the Vice-prime minister and Minister of the State Policy for Disasters and Accidents Emel Etem, paid special attention to the company booth. Minister Etem acknowledged the newest company products and personally tested their qualities. OPTIX presented for the first time on the show its new lighter twin tube night vision goggles “Diana-TT”; the dual positioning night vision monocular “Diana-M”, the new original night vision quick aiming sight designed for immediate and precise shooting, as well as the new concept of a 4X night vision sight. A great attraction for guests and participants was the training shooting ground. Everyone could try to shoot a gun and analyze his/hers taken aims using a specialized software.
„Optix” Co with a presentation to the Bulgarian Navy Varna 11 April 2007
„Optix” made a special presentation to the Bulgarian NAVY in Varna, explaining in details the company history, the complete scope of its products and its manufacturing capabilities. The presentation was attended by the Navy HQ high ranked officials, Navy special operation forces, National border police and Navy College lecturers. After the presentation a real tests and trials were conducted using day and night vision equipment, sights and Mobile Thermovision Surveillance Systems.

""OPTIX" Co Panagyurishte received the Silver Jubilee Sign and Diploma for introducing new technologies, for opening new production lines for micro-optical elements, for adopting the latest NX-CAD/CAM system and for selling its production in 21 countries on 5 continents. “IN-5” prize winning ceremony was held during the second “Machine, Technology, and Material Forum”. It was organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Economy.
Military Attache Association visited „Optix” Panagyurishte 28 February 2007
The Military Attache Association visited „Optix” Co. in Panagyurishte. The delegation included military attaches from Czech Republic, Russia, Romania, Germany, Italy, Great Britain and Turkey. After the company presentation and complete production tour, the members of the association visited also the town-hall and the historical museum. Mr. Petr Pelc, Defense Attache of Czech Republic, expressed his gratitude for the invitation and rated OPTIX among the leading companies in the Defense industry. He marked, that the visit was very interesting and gave to the delegation a clear idea about the capabilities of the local defense companies.
„Optix” Co- Innovative Enterprise of the 2006 Sheraton hotel, Sofia 19 December 2006
"Optix"Co received the “Innovative Enterprise of the Year” award for the second time. The prize was given for 19 innovative products – night vision goggles, night vision binoculars, optical sights, mobile termovision systems, TV cameras etc. All of which are new for the Bulgarian market.
OPTIX Co. won “Investor of the Year” competition held by the “InvestBulgaria" Agency Sheraton Hotel, Sofia
On 12 December 2006, "InvestBulgaria" Agency held "Investor of the Year 2006" ceremony. This traditional competition reflects the investment activity in Bulgaria. Important investments in various industries, also hi-tech projects and municipalities with high level of entrepreneurship were awarded this year. Foreign as well as domestic investors were nominated. Eight winners received the honorary statuette "Investor of the Year 2006" in eight different categories.
OPTIX Co. won “Investor of the Year” competition in the category “Investor in the area of innovative high technologies”.
The prize was handed over to “OPTIX” CEO Ivan Cholakov by the Minister of Economy Rumen Ovcharov and the “InvestBulgaria" Agency Director Stoyan Stalev. This acknowledgement comes after the serious investments which the company made in 2006, acquiring some cutting-edge technologies and increasing the productivity in some production sectors.. 
OPTIX Co. at the “OPTATEC” Exhibition in Frankfurt Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, Germany
The International Trade Fair for Future Optical Technologies, Components, Systems and Manufacturing “Optatec 2006” took place at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre from 17th till 20th of June 2006. Being a tradition in the OPTIX calendar, the exhibition gives a good opportunity for the company to feel the pulse of all the latest technologies and innovation in the optical filed. Some of the partners and customers were surprised by the investments made by OPTIX in the last year for increasing the mechanical and coating capabilities. The updated equipment enables the company to realize complete projects for production of cost-effective advanced optomechanical and optoelectronic systems and assemblies. The Exhibition also generated ideas to start design and production of new optical machines and measuring devices. 
OPTIX Co. announced the introduction of Quality Control Circles Panagyurishte
In June, OPTIX Co. starts its pilot project for introduction of Quality Control Circles in the company. Initially the circles will be formed among the people working the “Finishing Operations” Workshop but the ambition is soon this initiative to be spread in all production and administrative facilities. The idea of QCCs is to give an opportunity to the company employees regardless of their position in the organization to select and analyze work-related problems, which they are facing on a daily basis. United in small groups (5-6 persons) and using some Japanese QCC tools, the teams will put forward suggested solutions or implementation of best practices to the Management for consideration and decision. Considering men as the most valuable asset of a company, OPTIX management hopes that the new undertaking will increase the motivation of the personnel to achieve continuous improvement and to strive for higher quality. 
OPTIX was awarded as an Innovative Enterprise of the Year “Sheraton” Hotel, Sofia
In October OPTIX won the annual competition for an “Innovative Enterprise of the Year”. The honorable diploma was received by the company CEO Ivan Cholakov. The prize is given for implementation of Bulgarian scientific achievements which have lead to a lasting economic effect. The awarded companies were defined after a complete expert evaluation of the technical level of all new products, production volume, perspective in the company development, protection of the intellectual property, expenses for R&D processes, level of production and management.
The “Innovative Enterprise of the Year” prize winning ceremony was held during the Second National Innovative Forum in “Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan” organized by the World Bank and the “Researches and Communications” Foundation with the co-operation of the General Direction “Enterprises” of the European Commission. 
"OPTIX" devices at IDEF'05 in Ankara Ankara, Turkey
OPTIX presented its products at the 7th International Defense Exhibition IDEF’05 in Ankara, which was held in late September. 427 manufacturers and trading companies from 49 countries participated in this military industry show. OPTIX took part together with all the companies from the Bulgarian Defense Industry Association, introducing its full scope of day and night vision device. Our booth was visited by a number of official delegation, including the Deputy Chief of the Bulgarian Army General Staff vice admiral Peter Petrov. 
Successful participation of OPTIX Co. at the “DSEI 2005” Exhibition Åxcel Exhibition Centre, London
From 13 till 16 September, 2005 was held the largest international showcase for defence & military aerospace technology- “DSEI 2005” at the Åxcel Exhibition Centre in London. A lot of specialists from UK and all over the world came to experience first-hand the latest land, air and sea capabilities of more than 1,000 companies from 26 countries over four packed business days. OPTIX presented its complete range of products in the field of night and day vision. A lot of interest raised the newly developed monocular “Diana M-50”. 
A lot of interest in “OPTIX” products at the international Exhibition “Safety and Security 2005” Inter Expo Center, Sofia
In the mid September was held the international Exhibition “Safety and Security” and the international conference “Conditions and perspectives of the security structures on the Balkans. Crisis management”. Traditionally OPTIX introduced its latest developments in the field of night vision and thermovision. A lot of interest was shown to the newly launched “THERMA-03” system for border control and observation. 
“OPTIX” Co starts a donation campaign for the people, who has suffered from the floods in Bulgaria The management and the whole OPTIX team joined the donation campaign for the people, who were affected by the floods which recently swept over Bulgaria. At the company entrance was placed a box of the Bulgarian Red Cross. OPTIX Co starts adopting a new ERP system for management of all operational levels, which will improve the coordination and the logistics in the company. This system, developed by the German firm “ABAS”, will realize the management of all resources in OPTIX- production, deliveries, sales, finance and accounting. "ABAS" ERP is based on the newest software technologies and has an integrated mechanism for automatic update of the data base. The concept of the system is optimization of the productivity, effectiveness and adequacy of all processes in the enterprise. The "ABAS" production functions will support OPTIX in the organization of the manufacturing and the scheduling functions will generate procurement suggestions for purchasing, will check the compliance with due dates and will determine the earliest possible final delivery dates. The complete implementation of the ERP system will finish by 31.12.2005. |

The booth of the company was visited as of all present partners and of numerous new firms, looking for cooperation in the sphere of optical production and fine mechanics. The specialists of OPTIX, who visited the exhibition, had the task to get thoroughly acquainted with the innovations in the field of crystals and the vacuum coatings as the company is planning serious investments in these two lines of production.
